salvaging a weapon
I have a sword with only one mod on it which is a +30hp. Is there a high chance of salvaging it out? I don't wanna get materials out of it.

You'll probably get the mod with an expert salvage, but there is always the chance of either common or rare materials. Only one way to find out!

Unless you are in a hurry, I'd suggest waiting like Honor says. The story I hear is that you 'may' be able to salvage mods from weapons (and choose WHICH mod if the weapon has 2) without destroying the weapon come Nightfall... Even if this is untrue the only loss is a week of a storage spot....
If you wanna buy some skills and need the cash, yeah, expert salvage...very high chance of getting your mod. |

Wait for nightfall, I have a few I'm waiting on.
I've had terrible luck with most perfect mods salvaging - however it is just random, someone has to have the terrible luck. I've yet to get a +30, max sundering, or max +enchant mods to salvage out and I've found quite a few. The frustrating things is that I am not doing it to sell (well, I was wanting to sell the sundering mods - I find them useless and they are worth quite a bit), I want the mods for myself and in every case I got common crafting material. I've got one enchant and one fortitude waiting on Nightfall right now. While getting to choose the mods to salvage may very well flood the market (and kill the price) we now have heroes to equip (which would greatly increase price). The economy will be interesting for a little while. |

Just don't be surprised if the new salvage system only works on Nightfall items.

I think many people are waiting for the new salvage options because they have found a weapon that has a 20/20 sundering mod and a crappy mod such as a health +14 (or something like that), and want to be 100% sure they can get the good mod. I have a feeling this will bring the prices down on these items, and if you want full price for your mod, sell it in the next 7 days

I agree with Hockster, this will probably only affect Nightfall Items, meaning the Tyrian weapons, will remain unsalvageable/unselectable(which mod). Can a Tyrian character use the materials storage tab?
